This is a full set of STL files that will allow you to print out your very own US Ohio Class SSBN Submarine model.
Designed by Randy Sanders, this model is optimized for RC construction, featuring:
- Centerline split for hull access
- Orientation pin holes for hull alignment
- Two different top hull options:
- Closed missile hatches
- Opening/closing missile hatches
- Separate control surfaces with pre-formed control rod holes
This model was designed at 1/96 Scale which gives it a shell thickness of 3.60mm. It can be scaled down to 1/144 scale with a shell thickness of 2.40mm. Of course, it can also be scaled up for those of you who really want a big sub!
Length in 1/96 scale: 177cm / 70"
Beam in 1/96 scale: 13.7cm / 5.4"
Total volume of filament needed (not including supports): 2840cm3
Estimated filament needed: 3.25 rolls
For a functional model, printing in either PETG, ASA or ABS is recommended. Printing in PLA plastic will require additional care and attention not to let the hull be exposed to high heat such as direct sunlight or extended periods in a hot vehicle, as hull warping can easily occur thanks to PLA's low melting point.

Have fun with them. Mark, chop, scale, and modify however you like. Just don’t let them out of your possession.
