Frequently asked questions
The Nautilus Drydocks currently offers a wide range of products specifically for the hobby of RC Submarines. This includes model kits, electronics, radios and other parts specifically for the hobby. What you won't find are generic parts that can be sourced from any number of online or brick-and-mortar hobby stores such as servos, speed controllers and other easily sourced items.
I am currently employed full time in a field other than RC submarines, so my time to field questions and calls is somewhat limited. Quick questions and inquiries are best forwarded to me via the Chat interface on my website, or via email to bob@nautilusdrydocks.com. Please note the "quick questions" part of my response here. If you're getting started and want someone to walk you through the entire process of building a submarine, explain all of the various ballast systems, or any other in-depth explanation, I'm afraid you will be directed to purchase one-on-one video or phone call time in the evenings or weekends. This time is also very limited, so please work with me on scheduling and I'll do my best to help you out.
My name is Bob Martin and I'm also known as the RCSubGuy. I've been building remote-controlled submarines since 1999, and professionally since 2008. In these years, I have built hundreds of RC submarines from every manufacturer you can think of. Up until recently, I offered build up services for those looking to get ready-to-run boats. Unfortunately, since I started back to work full-time, I am no longer taking on for-hire build commissions (unless you want to throw ridiculously, embarrassingly high offers at me, in which case, I'll make it happen!)
